BYC Café

We had our follow up visit to the Dr to review blood work for both of us. I'm back on a low dose statin. My total cholesterol was 224. The good news is my HDL level is 62 which is considered very good. My dad had naturally high cholesterol and was on Simvastatin.
DH has to see a urologist due to high PSA levels. Anything over 4 is considered a risk for prostate cancer. He had always been running between 2.4-2.8. This last test was 6.1.
After we left the Dr. we had lunch at the Apple Dumpling Cafe, which was a nice treat. We had the place to ourselves until right before we left when two other couples came in.
We then stopped to get my Rx and get DH his first Shingrix vaccine.
Now we're home and I'm too tired to do all the things I need to do outside and it's just cold and dank and sucking all the motivation out of me.

So I've brewed another pot of coffee. Have at it.
Thanks for the coffee!

Keep us updated on the prostate issue!

Good evening Cafe.
Anyone fancy hot spiced gazpacho? There's a pot on the stove.
Mostly a lovely day here again.
We're on weekend zone lockdowns here now. Who dreams up this stuff?
I had to look it up, but gazpacho sounds delish. Maybe washed down with some whisky? People are driving me nuts.

What does the weekend lockdown entail?

People tend to do that.:p
It entails me having to take the bike through the woods to avoid the police. I'm sure they can hear me up on the ridge.:lau
They....have split the villages and towns into zones based on postal districts. You are not permitted to leave your zone over the weekend unless it's an emergency.
I'll be going through 4 zones tomorrow and won't even see a person let alone a virus.
It's not that I don't take Covid seriously. I have masks which I wear when coming into contact with people, I take my bottle of alcohol and a rag with me to wipe stuff. But, there isn't much except woodland and farms in the zones around me and a noticable lack of people.
It's just another bit of knee jerk incompetance by those who believe they are fit to govern.
My nephew is in Sweden and they don't have nay of this and now their death rate permillion population is less than the UK, USA, Spain, Italy etc etc and their deaths per million are declining while ours are rising. Sure, the Swedes are much more trusting of their politicians and tend to get a much higher level of competence. They also have a properly funded health service and a better financial support system for those who are affected by Covid. I dunno Meg; I don't think this lot have a clue what they're doing.
