BYC Café

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

Dad's roof gets finished today!! And with it the two largest projects that needed to be done there will be complete. I'll be spending all my free time there until all the projects are done. The goal is to have the house mortgage ready by the end of the year.

The vacation has been cancelled. I spoke with Nan and she said if DH went down there and was exposed to all those different people he'd have to self quarantine for at least 10 days before she'd come back to stay with him. I let his sister know that we could visit for an hour or so at her house but that's it.
That's great about the roof! Sounds like the end is near, eh? I suppose that's a little bittersweet.

Probably a good thing about the vacation. Happy to hear you came to that conclusion. My poor brother and his whole family have covid at the moment. He said he's been far sicker in the past, but just doesn't feel "right". He started getting sick last Monday, so she's definitely hanging on. Hoping they're over it soon.

Good call if I may say so.

Good evening Cafe.
I've made a late pot of coffee. The Lavazza supply arrived.:celebrateHelp yourselves. I'll only drink a small cup.
Cool and cloudy here today. Due heavy rain tomorrow accrodinng to the weather people. Not much I can do about that so it's get dry wood in the house, some easy food and hope it only lasts the day.

Lunch break.
It's gorgeous out. 71, sunny and breezy. We'll have dry weather in the high 60s for about a week.
We've got all the plywood replaced that needed it, ice and water and underlayment down and the starter strip on. We won't hit the ridge tonight but should clear the porch roof and start to the garage roof.

Good evening everyone, and thank you for the much needed coffee boost @Shadrach !

Were you able to finish your Dad's roof today as scheduled, @DobieLover ?

Having cancelled the vacation seems to be the best decision at this moment. Hopefully the 'sweet sister' was being reasonable and did not take offense.

ETA: of course it is already almost 9 pm and dark for quite some time here in Germany and you will still have many hours to go. :D

It's so nice today, hard to believe what's right around the corner..

But I've got an inside project going. Finally decided to tackle the bathroom. I've been worried about painting over the tongue and groove pine, but there's so much of it I think it'll be a nice change of pace. I'll have to run in and get some more paint!

Painting with a brush is going to take six days and seven nights, but I like the nice smooth finish. So many cracks to have to brush, anyway.
