Lots of people around here that foofoo the virus. I do wonder how the holiday season will go. We've been up to 1000+ cases a day and with around a million people in the state it just seems inevitable that we all get it.

Cognitive impact and fogginess is one of the possibilities. I don't get the 'foofoo'. Did they really think that all of the deaths on both coasts were make believe ? It's not real until it hits you or someone that you know/love. Drives me freaking crazy.

There are so many unknowns about this virus. As has already been said duration and impact can be all over the spectrum. Sad. :(
Yes, and seemingly no guidance makes it more difficult for people. I'm sure his family isn't the only one in the dark. Thankfully, they aren't as sick as some do/will get. :hmm

Do you have a lot of those people around? Hard to believe how many people still say it's the flu. Very sad to not take it seriously until you don't have a choice.

Not sure I trust the 'data', except the hospitalization and death counts....
....because what are they basing it on, those questionable 'tests'?
This scenario is really setting off my jaded skepticism.

Our governor has been pretty much hard core. One of his favorite sayings is, "Don't be a jackass." Masks are mandated, and most wear them. Almost everyone here knows someone who has died or been seriously impaired by this disease. For all but the 'jackasses' it is for real.

You guys were hammered hard and fast. I'm sure that makes a huge difference. :( It didn't really start moving up in numbers here until September.

What does purple mean? Far as I know, we don't have any scales around here.
The whole damn country is on a scale.

That's another thing, it's been no respiratory symptoms at all. Said he feels like he's got a brain termite haha. Not sure exactly what that means, but doesn't sound like his thinker is working quite right.

Well, 30% seem to get it only as a stomach infection. Some of them move on to organ attacks like kidneys. Others get brain inflammation and other get blood clots.

It is very silly that many do not take it seriously. It is a health crisis and not a lifestyle choice.

Currently it is rated at least 5 times more deadly than flu but that does not count the lifetime disability many will get from it.

At the place my SIL works in Missouri, two staff that survived are now on permanent disability.
