Those are the tops of my 42-in electric fence rods.

This is a more than excellent example of why run doors should open outwards!!

And you'll be seeing it in the other forums for sure.

I've made a big steaming pot of hot chocolate to warm you up! And coffee if you prefer. Or mocha :D

Have I ever told you I love you?

@DobieLover you got what we missed. Our 12-18" turned into more like 8 -10". I see sore backs and shoulders in our future.

We got over twice the high end you were expecting. Certainly not the original 3"-6", then 6"-12" then 9"-16" that I heard the last time. I measured it on undisturbed snow on the front walkway. It probably peaked out at just shy of 40". Nice forecasting.

What town or county are you in?
Were the fire pics from last night?

We are in Tioga county, about 6 miles from the PA border and 2 miles to the Broome County border.

The pics were from last night. We had about 7.5" on the ground at the point I took the pictures. Silly me, I had shoveled twice thinking I'd have about the same amount to shovel when I got up in the morning. My jaw dropped when I peeked out the window.
I started out the front door just trying to get to the ground so the dogs would go out. They refused.

I then shoveled off the small stoop outside the mudroom and went that way to get to the coop. When I got back, I put Bella out and she stepped off the front of the stoop and went down through over 4' of snow that was there. It was actually hilarious because she's big enough to pop out of it! She looked like she was trying to swim. She plowed under the mudroom and just waited there until I dug her out. She can stand up under there but has never been under there before.

I figure it's going to take about four 1hour sessions to dig out the garage walkway, front walkway and the vehicles. The neighbor will come later today with the front loader and clear the driveway. They do every time we get snow and refuse to take any money from me. I think I'll make a batch of homemade sticky buns this weekend and take them over.

My goodness! Don't let the little ones out without a leash, they might get lost!
