Yep and they found a second on CO. Both National Guard members who had assisted in a care facility. That may be the source, who knows. But what one does know is that the residents there surely didn't go to England and get infected.I've heard they have at least one new variant case in California, too.
It's already all over the place, so trying to isolate the UK because it has been confirmed there is pure hysteria on the part of the EU (something along the lines of locking the barn door after the horse has already been stolen). A saner solution is probably to just assume that, if you have any strains of Covid-19 in your country, you probably have that one too, and following the usual anti-infection recommendations are even more important. But, I know that some people can be absurdly resistant to any attempt to get them to protect themselves (I remember getting in a conversation with a guy shortly after North Carolina enacted the law requiring the wearing of seat belts when driving. He said, "I don't care what the law says, you can't make me wear a seat belt! If I'm involved in an accident, I want to be thrown clear of the car." I said, "if you get involved in an accident, please make sure it's not with me. I'd hate to spend the rest of my life feeling like I'd killed you."). I realize there's little hope of controlling the spread simply by expecting the common man to use common sense, so I guess more draconian measures may be called for. Did you hear about the Georgia college student who has been jailed in the Cayman Islands for violating their Covid guidelines? Guess what, gal? The rules even apply to ugly American tourists!
