BYC Café

Good afternoon everyone and thank you for the coffee @DobieLover

Bad news on the tests for DH. He has a very high probability of having prostate cancer. He is going in for a biopsy on 1/15. We have to find out what type it is before knowing what the treatment will be.

I am very sorry to read this and hope very much that it will turn out at least with no need for surgery. Some prostate cancers encapsulate and will not spread if left alone.
The last thing your DH needs would be anaesthesia.

One day prior to learning this, my sister arrived from Texas full of, I mean FULL, of her own drama. I haven't spoken to her for about 3.5 years, haven't seen her for about 20. I'm extremely sympathetic to her but cannot deal with the drama. She needs to be in counseling. She and I are completely different on many fronts and a close relationship is unlikely. We've never been close and disagree on nearly everything

Just what you needed on top of everything else! Don't let her/them drain your positive energy.

She is now living with my mother.

Might be for the best, so they can get each others attention, compare and evaluate their various dramas and leave you out.

Sure did! I have some friends that moved to Vestal about 30 years ago. Not being sure where the house is I did some Googling. Pretty close to the river, I hope they didn't flood. The REALLY sad thing is that we've fallen out of touch over the years and I found the wife's obituary from 2012. She was 57. She had weight and serious health issues for as long as I've known them so not surprising but :(

Echo started crowing when she was about 2 years old. But then she hardly ever made normal hen noises other than the egg song.

I was thinking of making that but was not surprised when DW said "I'll pass". She isn't fond of white potatoes, only yams/sweet potatoes.

But she will like this for dinner on the 1st. Her Bday is the 12th day of Xmas, the 5th.
Linguine allo Scoglio
I picked up the seafood today.

My chickens do that with snow on my boots. But do they eat the snow on the ground? Nope.

And today they are saying that the person with it hadn't travelled which means there are at least 2 people in CO with it.

Happy belated BDay Cap!
Thank you.

Good morning, Cafe! Thanks for the coffee, Tonya.

Had another calf last night. My husband cleared out a packed loft that's been stuffed with old papers and Christmas decor and cut in a new window for a sweet vantage point. A little hard to get up and down, but you can see everything!

Glad to see the Moms have shelter. Some folks just leave them outside.

Hey there! Can i please have a hot chocolate with extra cream and marshmallows.
So.... I currently only have 3 hens, 1 cat and 1 dog but in the new year, hoping to expand my flock. Also, a quick question, will ducks and chickens live in harmony? Oop another question... Will a cockerel live in harmoney with a drake? Thx!
Drakes are dangerous to hens and can kill them .

Good morning Cafe. Thanks for the coffee, Sour.
I hope everyone is warm and cozy!

This morning.

Three of my favorite shrubs/trees had several limbs snapped off. We were expecting 1-3". I'm going to go visit the local weather station, baseball bat in hand, and have a little conversation. I want to see their diplomas and their college transcripts to find out what their grades were.
The snomance is so over!

Shoveling! See above...

That image is going to give me nightmares. Chickens are just fine and dandy, thank you!

Dad's house had several mice in it too. We've been trapping them. We had one trap that was licked clean of the peanut butter. We smooshed a piece of bread on top of the PB. Snap!
Very pretty scene, but glad it's not here.
