BYC Café

Since I retired last spring, this is the first winter someone has been home all the time, so I keep the woodstove going. The propane truck came yesterday (at 7 am on a Saturday?!?) and I laughed, because we were still at 60% full.

So glad hubby loves his new 40 ton woodsplitter. He's gonna get to use it a lot now. ;)

So it turns out the well isn't capped but sealed with an inner expansion ring. We got it off and it took 45 minutes to bring up the chlorine and another 15 minutes to bring it into all of the plumbing.
I'll head up in the morning to start flushing the well for a few hours before taking DH in to get the biopsy results and figure out what the next steps are.

Your range of knowledge never ceases to impress! :bow

Good morning Cafe. 6F this morning. 11 degrees colder than predicted. Thanks weatherman; you ijit. I'll take a big mug of hot coffee, thanks LF.
Flushing the well will be difficult in such cold temps. I have to run the hose out to the nearby woods so I don't kill the grass with the chlorine water but I risk the hose freezing closed.
