Good morning, Cafe', and thanks for the coffee. Predicting 12 - 18" of snow here.

Maggie had a traumatic morning. We went outside earlier when it was still dark. A fox was barking in the back. She had a quick pee and poop and then back inside to escape the 'monster'. Went out a bit ago and there were 10 deer in the field next door. She was certain they were the 'monster'.

The egg is right at the door. I think it just hurts her. I've picked more of the crusty stuff off of her vent and you can see it's pretty red and raw. I've got her soaking in warm water and I hope she can get it out. I think I'm going to put some oil in her vent.

Ohhh that looks sore poor girl but looks tons better than the crust she had bigger that her she is strong girl

Have you given her some extra calcium?

Do you hatch, Aart, or buy pullets?

I usually hatch, supposed to get some BCM and (real)Ameraucana chicks this year, but it's starting to sound a bit hinky.

She's really squawking. It hurts. I don't know how long the let her keep pushing without any progress before I do something drastic.

Oh boy, that looks rough The difference you made in soaking and trimming is amazing, though! I hope she passes it okay.

Oh boy, that looks rough The difference you made in soaking and trimming is amazing, though! I hope she passes it okay.

I know it's a bad idea to have broken raw egg inside a bird. But if I can open the very end of that egg and drain most of it maybe she would be able to crush it and push it out. Thoughts anyone?
