Here’s Hercules baby who’s now 1 year old sadly her dots on her chest are gone 😫 I would have loved for her to have the two spots on her chest! She also is now a beautiful color her name is princess View attachment 2567601View attachment 2567603
She's a blue.
I'm surprised you bred a Z-factor dam. I thought the goal of all Doberman breeders was to try to breed the defective gene out of the breed.

Our first two dogs were Dobes. I've never heard of the Z-factor, what is it? I never got into understanding breeding specifics, just loved the breed itself.

I am loving the pictures of Dobes... oh, I want another one...

From DPCA:
*** ALBINISM - "white coated" and "white factored" Dobermans should NOT be bred. These dogs are *TYROSINASE POSITIVE ALBINOS*. In 1996, the AKC established a tracking system (the letter "Z" will be part of the registration number) allowing breeders to identify the normal colored Dobermans which may carry the albinistic gene. A list with all dogs tracing back to Shebah's (the first Albino Doberman registered) parents is available here. All breeders should require an AKC certified pedigree with colors to check that "white coated" and "white factored" dogs are not present in the pedigree of the dog or bitch to be bred.

I've never owned any dog or cat that wasn't a rescue. I just like to know as much about the breed as possible. Like the fact that 40% of all Dobermans will die from DCM. I believe that to be accurate as out of the 5 I've lost, three of them had it. Two had sudden death. One was euthanized because her heart would not have made it through surgery to repair a second CCL rupture.
They are prone to other issues as well like hypothyroidism, hepatitis, von Willdebrand disease and Wobbler's syndrome. Of these, my first Dobie, Amber, died from Doberman hepatitis and Dylan had hypothyroidism in addition to DCM. I knew another that had Wobblers.

probably because they are indestructable
Maybe not. You are shopping for a new car afterall!

After researching what I wanted to replace my Prius with I started shopping on-line for it. I went to a local dealer to drive one to make sure there was nothing about it I HATED. Then found one in NJ that was a deal I couldn't pass up and got it.

As long as you've done your research on the Altitude, just go test drive one and see what you think. Then find the best deal you can.

yeah---my hesitation is that I have been lucky so far with Jeep--both previous cars were Libertys and lasted past 10 years--this one has 165000 miles, but little things are starting to go: radio, tailpipe, of course scratched and dented. I am afraid I'm due for a lemon!
