Soak tests?Hi all
Dropping by briefly to report that the paddock is finally ready, just in time for the soak tests tomorrow; with a bit of luck the digger driver might be persuaded to knock in the roof of the shed, before it collapses, when he's done digging holes
In any case, life should return to something like normality by Weds! And then I get my 1st jab on Friday... Spring sure has sprung here![]()
Perc tests ?Soak tests?
Did you remember to account for the money saved by not working? Between retirement account, SSI and medicare I will not have to sped about $1,000.00 a month when I retireFirst cup down the hatch. Thanks!
Chilly today, but nothing like what you have, DL. High of 40, but some wind.
Gotta go to the store today, and the bank. Wallet is devoid of cash. I know everyone does debit cards nowadays, but not me. I like to hand over cash or write a check; then it feels like I have spent the money and it's gone. That helps me keep a handle on my spending.
15 months from now, hubby will retire, or at least that's the plan. I want to budget this year as if he is retired, so I know it'll work when he does. I added up all the checks I wrote last year, added the cash withdrawals, and gasped. It was quite a bit more than I had thought.
Yeah, that figures into it too. I've had to have one -- just one! -- oil change in the last year. I think I drove about 4k miles.Did you remember to account for the money saved by not working?
One nice thing about Working for the University of California is the good health Insurance I have.Yeah, that figures into it too. I've had to have one -- just one! -- oil change in the last year. I think I drove about 4k miles.
Some of the savings were from what I grew in the garden. I had the best harvest ever, and I'm sure a lot of that was because I put more time into it.
We're spending a lot less on healthcare now, but it's also a bare bones, major medical/minor miracle policy. Basically, for if we get really sick or have a bad accident. The first $13k is on us.
Shad would be far better than me at advising. I've only rehabbed one rooster.@DobieLover @Shadrach
Rooster behavior question. When I take in the afternoon snack, sometimes my cockerel comes up and pecks my shoe. He did it again today after I gave him all of the pieces of today's treat. I see that as aggression... correct? Even after I made a point of giving him the treats, although the girls jumped up and got some.
If this is as far as he goes, I can live with it. If this is a prelude to increasing aggression, I need to stop it. He is a very slow learner, as far as I can tell. How would you respond to this particular behavior?
