Soak tests?

Perc tests ?
the paddock came with planning permission, which has a condition that a full scheme of drainage needs to be delivered and approved before any work can commence. And that requires first, measured rates of how long it takes water to soak away from several given sized holes in the ground. So we need to do this, and then we can get the foundations in for the approved plan, which we need to do in order to retain the planning permission. We have no intention to build, but if we don't do this the permission will expire next year and then the land will revert to 'ordinary' land, swallowing up most of the value we had to pay to buy it. (It was either that, or let the then-owners develop it, which would have been a nightmare.) Once we get the foundations in, the permission will last forever, so we can get our money back when we come (as one day we will have to) to leave this beautiful place.
