After a long afternoon nap under the heating pad,
(I was starting to worry a bit)
all the chicks came out to eat and drink.
One doesn't have full 'lunch pail' tho, hope it gets with the program tomorrow.

I forgot how much nanny gander loves babies. He was none to happy I was in there messing with them.

Durn geese can be ornery critters. Had one here for a couple of years. We were constantly taking turns chasing each other around. I finally found a place not far away with a big pond and a bunch more geese that wanted him. As soon as I let him out into the pasture of the new place he took off straight for that pond and never looked back. Didn't say bye, kiss my patootie or nothing.

My husband tells a story about him and his brother looking at a job. They were wandering about the property and this old goose would run up to them when they weren't paying attention and nail them on the leg or hand and run away. Their dad got there and they thought it'd be funny to set him up. So they walked around a bit and started talking to him so the goose was behind him. They were giggling, thinking this bird was going to startle the bejesus out of him. Well, here it comes a runnin' and dad turned around and snatched that goose by the beak! Quick as a copperhead apparently. He showed his boys

What happened to those phones that used to make phone calls?

They are just harder to find yet MUCH cheaper. They also flip now. That's what I own.

Got sent my first ever 'smart phone' by my elder sister a few days ago. I hate it!

Throw it away and you'll have a phone that makes phone calls.

They really are not that tough to use better half has the same smart phone at 74 he uses his for what he likes mostly solitaire he can make and receive calls taught him to use the speaker phone so he can hear .. Still wants me to make all his calls on my phone

Which ones on the short bus?

Not nice, but it did make me laugh.
One of the Marans, is smaller and not as ative as the others.
May be fail to thrive or just a bit slow.
Had a chick once that didn't eat or drink for 3 days, just kinda slowly wandered around when it wasn't standing staring at nothing. Then all of sudden it started chowing down and seemed fine. Not sure how it did in the long run as I was hatching for someone else's flock.

ETA: All are alive and very active this morning.
Funny, they all woke up and poured out chittering from under the heater while it was still pretty dark down there.
