Sally, my first chickens ever- RIRs, hatchery stock, were the worst ever at having new chickens added to the flock. They were the first and only in their little brains and they were rabid in their enforcement. Since their demise many years ago, I have not gotten any more RIRs except for a rose - comb from Sandhills, and she is a sweetie. I have not had any issues since then, but I also now have roosters and the flock is a mixed combo of whatever has been added and hatched up here.

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

It 45F this morning heading up to near 80. No fire in the stove and open windows to warm the house today!

I think I've got the furniture sold and they will pick it up Saturday night once they confirm it fits in the apartment. It'll be nice to be able to paint the room with nothing in it.
Last day work...

Imagine my surprise when I saw the profile comments about getting the badge. Not in a million years did I think I'd ever get that.
Now if they offered a smart ass badge, well...

So yesterday I found out my next door neighbor was thinking about getting chickens. I talked to her for about 2 hours about chickening... coop, food, run, etc.

This morning her three boys talked her into get chicks from TSC. 16, mixed breed flock of day old pullets. Gonna be interesting...

Yeah, I suppose....I have doubts about a lot of the 'data', but at least the article gives more info than the ShockandAwe headline screen shot someone posted that prompted me to look it up. Much is still unknown, which was duly reported in taht article. I get really pissed about the people who are not taking care to stay safe even tho they are 'fully vaccinated'...not to mention many others who have never acted safely. SHM.
