BYC Café

Good morning and thanks for the coffee! I tried to see the lunar eclipse, but it was cloudy, so I went and woke the horses up to feed them. :)
Meg, that calf is definitely a looker, but not as cute as Chewy. Glad you are doing well!
I am waiting for our weather to get a smidge warmer.
We found out yesterday that DH, did indeed have the Vid. He is on day 16 from when he came down with it, so not contagious by all standards, but he is still in rest mode. He gets really mad at me when I tell him to take it easy, but he doesn't put up a fight so I know he is definitely not back to normal. I am very glad that I got the vaccine! I had nothing but a runny nose but I still assumed that it was the Vid until he was well enough to go get tested. I think he is over me peering at him like he is a bug under a microscope/ science experiment but he was refusing to go to the doc and so I was checking on him constantly, ordering him to drink water, checking o2 sat and all that fun stuff.
He would have had an easier time of it had he just gone to the doc! But he is still here to complain about it so we celebrate year 36 in June! LOL! :lau
It may well be like that here as covid becomes a seasonal illness.

The DW refused to get vaccinated but I am fully vaccinated now.

Isn't that funny? I'm curious to see how the hair sheds/grows out.

Hopefully DH is back to normal soon! It went through our family a couple months ago. Husband, both boys, both girlfriends. I did not get it :confused:I know another gal who's family went through it and she didn't get it either. We are both on hydroxychloriquine, but I have no idea if that had any bearing.

I had Nan let the bratty broody out at 5. She was still off the nests as of 15 minutes ago but ticking away and getting bipped on the head by some of the girls so I don't think we're in the clear yet.
I keep getting severe thunderstorm alerts on my phone but we haven't gotten hit yet.
I had planned to come home and do the trim mowing before it rained but instead I'm watching chicken TV. I haven't been able to do that for a long time and I'm enjoying it quite a lot.
Olivia is starting to poke holes in eggs. I need to trim her spurs.

I read it would take 9 to 11 days from hatch for the junco chicks to leave the nest. That's amazingly fast.
Here they are in my dead fern.

Much more important than mowing!

Shell looks a bit thin?
Trimming spur might not matter?

Shell looks a bit thin?
It was. I fed it to the dogs.
One of the other reasons for the calcium infusion 2 days ago. I forgot to do it today so I'll get them in the morning.
But that's not the first egg I've had a hole poked in. Either she's got good aim for slightly defective shells or she's putting too much pressure on the eggs with those spurs.
Here's one from yesterday. Different hen laid this.
