Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready. It's nippy out there it's only day one of the three day cold snap. My determination not to build a fire this late in the season may falter.

I've got to get a move on and run the dogs before the rain starts. And get that load of wood chips for mulching around the garden beds, and weed trimming and mowing the lawn before it starts raining... oh, who the hell am I kidding? I'm just going to run the dogs!!

Meg, your flock is just beautiful!!
Who is your rooster in the first picture? Is that a cockerel in the third? Who is he? Do they give Papa Goose any grief?
How far do they range?
Don't they trash your pretty flower pots?

We had a fire in the woodstove last night. I'll build one a little later this morning. Today I'm going to take advantage of the chill to bake something.

More rain last night and today. The ground is just soaking it up, it's so thirsty from the lack of precip. It sounds so pretty and it's making me want a nap...

The one last evening just missed us to the north.
Today's looks like it will linger all morning.

I closed the windows but will not turn the heat back on(I don't think).

I refuse to use the furnace this time of year. Build a fire, or bundle up. I'm not paying to heat the house, only to open windows in a day or two. Same thing at the other end of summer.

Yesterday when I was at work, I got a call from DH. I just answered the phone without looking very closely other than seeing his name on the display. I assumed it was Nan calling from the house phone.
The person asked "Is this Tonya?"
I answered, "yep."
The person then went on to say, "I found a phone in the couch my daughter bought for me. I didn't know how long it had been there but charged it up and your name came up as the ICE contact so I decided to call".
Looks like I finally found DHs phone! I feel a little guilty for having sold it along with the furniture.
I downloaded a device finder app on it last night and tested it out and it works great. So I'll give it back to him.
