BYC Café

Um, why does the owner not have control over who gets fired and who doesn't?
This is a question I have too. But he gave the man he chose for VP basically control of the business, I think. That guy probably saw my hubby as competition. Hubby had also gotten a (very well deserved) big raise a few years previously, and the VP probably sold the owner on the idea as a cost cutting measure.

It's water under the bridge now. Neither of us work there anymore, and I still think highly of the owner (he has faults, but has also helped a lot of people who have worked for him).

I will never work for the VP again, that's for sure. I was asked to come back as seasonal help last December, and decided not to.

I got the apron done around the run extension. Whee. My hands are tired from unrolling hardware cloth. Man, the inner end of the roll is tight!

I also dug out a 2x3' area in front of the door to the run and put pavers there, about 2" below grade. Now there's a place for some snow to fall, but not block the door. And the pavers give me a solid surface to shovel against when I need to shovel the snow out of the way.

The run extension gave the littles and the adults both a lot more room. I think Lark, my bottom hen who pecks the littles through the fence, is getting a bit more used to the idea of them being there. One of the littles was sunbathing next to the fence and Lark left it alone. I'm not ready to take down the fence between the two yet, but it's progress.

You missed the opportunity to get yourself a new dog! :D
Believe me that crossed my mind. :D
I saw another beautiful GS in the back of a pickup at TSC on Sat.
Was so tempted to go meet it.

I got the bug from @aart next dog will be a standard poodle puddle think maybe black or partie color both can be gotten here
Would love a B&W parti Spoo......saw one at TSC a couple months back.
There's a local breeder, but they cost a couple-few grand.

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

I have been nailing Shadow every time I see him at his foot. I was pleasantly surprised to see the bandage still in tact and on his foot this morning. But I have to go to work today and no one else will be as attentive as I've been with him. I'll douse it with a fresh layer of hot sauce and cayenne pepper before I leave and hope for the best.

I've found 6 great Dobermans that all needed new homes. One of the best of them I paid $75 for his adoption fee. He was 18 months old.
Apples to oranges ;)
Rascal came from SPCA, a whole litter(6) of Standard Poodles, how they actually got there we'll never know. Fee was $350 in ~2005.
