What do you all do with the feathers in the coop? Or in the run? Just leave them, or try to scoop them out?

Seeing how they're a good source of nitrogen for the compost pile, I was trying to scoop/pick them up. It's going to be a losing battle very soon.

I just leave them, some get scooped up with the poops.

They stay where they fall here Those that are on the coop floor will get to the compost pile along with the poop and pine shavings in the spring.

I think I am caught back up...
HS reunion was a blast. Great band and yes, there are those people who are not to bother with, and then there are those to catch up with. I stayed with my HS-BFF's parents
and we had a wonderful time and then had breakfast with another friend that did not go to the reunion. I should try to get back there a little more often before they pass on for sure. Anyway, it was a nice break from around here and now the firewood needs to be moved out because DS$ and I/ DH have official visits to do, so that means more traveling.

We started a hike up the side of Okemo Mountain. 3 miles up. Made it about 1.75 miles before DH conceded defeat and we turned around. I thought that was a GREAT job on his part all things considered.
So we hiked back down, hopped in the car and drove around the other side of the mountain and drove up to the top parking lot then hiked 0.5 mile to the fire tower. I climbed up after tying the dogs to the base while DH sat on a rock and waited for me. The first picture is him on the rock that I took from the top of the tower.
We saw a Fisher cat dart up and across the path on the way up. That's why Skittles is leashed in a couple of the pictures.
It's so hard to truly capture the majesty of the scenery with a phone camera. It was gorgeous.
