I wanted to spend some time with the flock today to make sure everyone was okay.
Poor Truvi is half the chicken she was when I left. She's in a porcurpine hard molt the way Kylie did hers. Annie, Fabio, Truvi and Kylie are all tail-less.
I hung out briefly while the flock was settling in on the roosts. They are HORRIBLE to each other! But I think most of the screaming is just that. The pecking isn't that bad but man, it's brutal. When I went back out to do head count and lock up, all 5 chicks were lined up on the spot their mother normally roosts. She was on the opposite side and kept leaving them when they tried to pile in next to her.
I'm now 95% sure I've got the 4:1 split pullets to cockerel.
