Morning or afternoon had one hatch of the 4 blue I put in my little incubator need to stop and candle the others ..
Thanks really wanted my second cup .. Found cannot stay up to 12:30 get up at 8

They squawked some, not as bad as usual, all went in or under the coop and shade cloth.

This hatched of my 4 blue eggs have a heck of a time candeling them. Brown is much easier.. Found quiters in the Auction eggs of 12 I have 4 still viable

Yeppers, I knew from the beginning hawks would be the primary predator.
It was beautiful flying around and landing several times on the run and adjacent shed.
I knew it couldn't get at the chooks, so I just enjoyed the show.

Do you have corvids around?
I do and they help chase off the hawks.
I've had one strike that I'm aware of. When I got outside, it was on the ground between the chicken bush and the netting with the flock in a massive uproar. Some in the run, most under the bush.

Oh yeah, bunches of them.
Have definitely seen them chasing hawks(and other birds, including a turkey and canadian geese).
