BYC Café

I'll be trying to help someone overcome their fear of the geese and roosters later in the day at the allotment. Hopefully they will do one afternoon a week feeding and cleaning.
Good luck with that. That will help the birds and you.
RoosterS? You mean there is more than just Henry there?

No, there is just Henry but they are scared of any other creature that doesn't fall into the cuddly pet catagory.
Some caution with any creature, pet or not is always advisable but this person wants to do something more rewarding in their life apparently and they've offered to help at the allotments with the chickens and geese.

Good afternoon Café!

The weather changed significantly and rather reminds of early spring now, lots of rain and a temperature raise of 20 degrees Celsius. :th

I am off to run the dogs, my Airedale is lovesick (more than 3 females in heat in the neighbourhood!) and drives me nuts if I don't wear him out thoroughly.

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone! :frow

I bring another pot, hazelnut, if anyone likes that.

We got about an inch of heavy, wet snow last night. I need to go to town for a chiro appointment and to do the shopping. The county has another hour or so to get the roads plowed for me! :gig

I laugh because we are waaaaay down on the list when it comes to road maintenance. There are a bunch of farmers out here, and if the milk truck can't get through, they'll go out with their tractor and take care of the road themselves. Our road has been plowed out by a farmer more than once.

The only school age children on our road are homeschooled. No pressure to get the buses through.

Be careful out there @Sally PB !

We got less than an inch, way more rain than snow.
I think the road out front is clear, but the plows were scraping it early this morning.
Just above freezing, the eaves are dripping, but could be slippery out there.

Are you going to have him neutered when his bones are done growing?
No, our dogs don't get neutered unless there is a severe medical problem that can't get solved/treated otherwise. They get a decent education with lots of training and obey/respond regardless.

Our Bavarian Mountain Scent Hound Bruno got neutered at the age of 7,5 as his prostate inflammation was not curable by hormones or antibiotics. We had him on constant treatment for almost a year with different vets, but it did not work.
With him it was a hereditary problem, his sire died from the same issue the breeder sadly left untreated.

And my beloved Fritz got neutered when we had two intact females.
