BYC Café

I did some more reading on twin calves and they look to be between 0.5-2% of births. Fairly rare, indeed. The cause is always due to the mother cow and has nothing to do with the bull, from what I understand. Yet everyone I'd talked to prior believes it's bull related.

After having one set last year (one born live, one pulled dead) and one set yesterday morning (heifer and a bull, both alive), we had another set last night!

Four cows calved, six babies. Too funny.

Congrats Meg, looks like you're above average (like we didn't already know that)!

Good afternoon, Cafe'. Glad that Skittles is showing improvement. Son and his family just left. They arrived yesterday, and after the initial excitement Maggie decide that the older grand daughter was 'the one'. She was right. Son has never really liked dogs - go figure? DIL and younger GD are cat people, but Jen is an all around animal lover. They eventually ended up rolling around on the floor wrestling like a couple of puppies. SMH. Maggie will sleep all day today. :yesss:

Sounds like everyone had a good time yesterday Sour. Nice that you were able to get together with your family.

And DS will cave and get DGD a dog?
She had a Pomerian (not a real dog). He took seizures and died this summer. Jen is about to graduate college in May, and I'm guessing her future plans may involve the present boyfriend.

:hugs

How far is it to your sisters house, could you go by foot?
Not possible. She's just under 6 miles away but how would I walk it with all the ice?

I must be doing a good job keeping him hydrated because he went out and peed for almost a minute.
