Skittles continues to improve but for some reason, he spent a lot of time yesterday shaking and panting but was otherwise acting normally. I worry about his lungs and heart.

He's due for his rabies shot next month. Once he seems fully recovered from the GI trauma I'd like to take him in to be looked over and get the shot.

My Barnevelder pullets have started laying. I got two eggs from the three of them today. They are tiny. The Barnevelders will end up being somewhere between LF and bantam so the eggs will be small to medium at full size.
So another bit of good news for me today.
Just balance my life out though, I got a chip in my windshield on the way home.

I hate that. Nobody ever leaves the fish that went with the chips.

Back in Dec my manager texted me on my off day that there was a mandatory meeting on benefits.

I texted back, I'm PT, I don't get benefits.

He replied, you work at least 30 hrs per week; you're eligible.

Oh, really? Right after I'd finished signing up for my benefits through the Marketplace for the 3rd time since increasing my hours from 24 to 30 starting in 2020.

And I've been getting holiday pay...

Got me thinking. I'm eligible for holiday pay, medical/dental/vision benefits and can contribute to a 401(k). Why am I not getting vacation time? So I asked today.

Oh, you do.

NO. I don't. I get 1.077 hrs of SICK time per week worked which only started after the law went into place in 2020 due to COVID-19. Our company chose to dump it in the PTO bucket to use as we see fit.

Yes, you ARE eligible for vacation pay.

So. I've taken a total of 4 weeks off without pay and worked 8 extra hours every week I was eligible for holiday pay because no one ever told me I had these benefits for the past 2 years.

My manager is not happy with HR. He told me they WILL make up those weeks I took off without pay and I'll get vacation time this year. I would think I'd be eligible for 3 weeks but hell, I'll settle for 2. This makes a huge difference for me!!!

And while they are at it, they should also add the long overdue raise for good measure!

With regard to Skittle shaking and panting: Get his thyroid levels checked.

When did he last get the rabies shot?
Findings of antibody testing shoved, that for old dogs annual rabies shots are usually no longer necessary, every 3years will be enough unless it is an actively/professional hunting dog.
Therr are different rabies vaccines in use varying from 1-3 years validation.
