BYC Café

Meg, sorry to hear your dad has been so sick. :hugs

You've really had a week of it Meg! Glad you're feeling better.
Thank you, Debby :hugs Only up from here, I'd say! Ol' Chewy should be calving any day now, so I should have some cute baby pictures to share.

Good morning Cafe. A nice big hot pot of coffee is ready on this -12F morning. It's very glittery out there!

So, yesterday my nephew had to leave 30 minutes before Nan got to the house. I have a security camera on the entertainment center that we turn around so I can monitor the house to make sure that DH doesn't wander out if he has to be left alone for short periods of time. He was still in bed when nephew left.
I got an alert on my phone that the camera detected motion.
It was showing that nephew had left and I watched Bella standing by the LR window looking out, watching him leave. She then curled up on her blanket in front of the wood stove. Good girl!
I got another alert 10 minutes later.
Bell was hopping up on the couch. BAD girl! BAD, BAD girl!!
So I pressed the "speak" button that allows you to talk through the camera speaker and said "Bell, get off the couch".
She picked up her head and looked around like, 'where did that come from?' but didn't get off the couch.
So I pressed the button again and said "Bella, OFF!"
She scampered off that couch and ran down the hall to the bedroom and I never saw her again until Nan got there.
Bella now thinks I'm God!
And my co-workers got a good laugh hearing me yell at my dog from my office.

What fun!
Is that the first time you've done that?
Does it work on others in the house during your absences?
:gig
Yes. I thought it was great. You should have seen the look on her face!

And yes, I've talked to DH through the camera. He was so confused though he picked up the phone that is right next to it and tried talking to me through the phone.

Good afternoon, cafe. Brought a fresh pot. I find myself wanting something a little stronger, however.

Rough few days around here. My pa has been sick for a little more than a week. He couldn't breathe well yesterday and finally went to the ER this morning with a 67% oxygen saturation. Of course everyone is thinking covid, but he was negative. He has COPD and parainfluenza. Breaks my heart.

I'm sorry to hear about Dale, Sour. There is no easy loss to an animal-loving heart.
:hugs
Ugh, I know it :( He just got out of there, finally. Seems in good spirits. Says he's quitting smoking. :fl I suppose that means I should join him!
YES, join him, and the best to both of you on quitting.
