BYC Café

Thanks for the coffee. Yeah, @aart, our "dusting" was half an inch.

It is, however, GORGEOUS outside! It's very cold, so cold snow is falling out of the air, under a clear blue sky. It is light, fluffy, flakey, and sparkly. Grass and tree twigs have a 1/4"+ of frost on them.

It was 8 degrees when we left for our walk with Freya, and 14 when we got back. The sun is blindingly bright, and going to get us up to 23-ish today.

Sun is blinding, but a welcome lift of spirits.

Tractor thrower worked without a hitch, snow was deep tho almost over the auger housing so took multiple extra runs. I must say tho, my lessons learned over the years have honed my techniques to make for much better/easier results.
Realized after all was done cleaning off the rig and I was shoveling up the last of it that I had an egg in my coat pocket, not broken or even cracked! :gig

Now the driveway is clear I can get out of here, tho I really have no reason to it's nice to know I can.

I gave up on the neighbor and shoveled out again. It took about 1.5 hours. There is still a thick layer of the frozen rain packed down on the driveway. I just shoveled the light fluffy snow off of it. It'll be there until the spring thaw. It's at least 2" thick.

Banana walnut Paleo pancakes 🥞! Yum.

It's 16F outside. This is a neat glowing ash log with ash bark.

Everyone that knows me calls me Trib, even my wife, so feel free to do the same. It is my real name shortened.

I am an Army brat, but I serve in the Navy. I am stationed in Southern California right now and I love it here.

I have the most beautiful, perfect, amazing wife anyone could want, a little girl who I smart, pretty, funny and adventurous, and a new baby boy with blue eyes like you've never seen.

We have 8 hens and 1 rooster. Today, I am drinking coffee and i have the day off. I slept on the couch to watch my colicky son so my overworked stay-at-home wife could get some rest. (we actually switch every day).

I have the day off, so I can do something about a chicken coup that's too small with some wooden shipping crates I acquired.

Hope everyone else is having just as wonderful a morning.

Trib
Hi trib, I'm Justin from Ireland 🇮🇪, I'm relatively new to chicken keeping I have 3. It's late evening here and it's a miserable night so fire is lit, tv on put my 5 year old to bed and probably have a few 🍺. Enjoy your day off 📴

Hi Justin.
Trib hasn't been on the site in nearly 7 years! But the folks in last 100 pages of this thread have. We welcome you to the Cafe!
