BYC Café

a week or two wandering around the store looking for exactly what one wants.
And if you are in a "big box" store like Lowes or Home Depot, you can't buy the number of screws you want, they come pre-bagged lots of the the same price. So you end up with more than you want. Go to a real hardware store and buy just the number you want.

Thank you!

Everyone is laying except for the Jubilee Orpington pullet who is 8 months old now. :hmm
My six pulles will be 36 weeks on Monday. The Wyandottes and Black Australorps are laying, the Ameraucanas .... nothing.

maybe cold weather is stopping them? Or light time… mine started at 6.5 months almost on the dot. Good luck with yours❤️

Good Evening everyone! It was sort of dark and cool today with a continuous drizzle.

Ameraucanas take FOREVER sometimes - don’t worry! I hatched some in early June one year and they didn’t lay until the next April!

Was gonna toss some salt on the ice in the driveway, but it's fast melting at 45°.
Chicken run was enough of a mucky mess I tossed some shavings down.
Could be a right mess in the days ahead with rain and snow then plummeting temps.
