Yes, it was. It had a white chin and throat. I think it was a black rat snake. So the one I saw was kinda small as they can get to be 6 ft long.

DS$ has his roommates assigned for next year - all incoming wrestlers in the suite. He is going to have such a good time! Two of them we met last fall at the "interview" and they are very nice kids and so are the parents.

Just gartner snakes here also .. Chickens play keep away when they get one.

We hiked a bit over 1.5 miles south down the beach by my estimate.
All that dark material is heavily organic and slippery as all get out.
Gobs of mussels grow on sections of it. It's only visible at low tide.
It's really neat down there.

This a is a whelk egg casing.

This is a tired Skittles after our 2 hr hike.

This is my chicken guard (on top of the window) that keeps the heathens from flying up and eating my flowers in the window baskets on the front of the coop. I wonder if there are any flowers left. I don't know why my nephew took them off!

Good morning Cafe.
I've made a pot of coffee.
I've been busy this week. Not managing to get home at night most nights. Thankfully it's back to whatever normal is next week.
The new coop got delivered to the allotments. Kerbside delivery only so I had to carry the coop into the field. Not too bad because I could take it straight off the back of the flat bed and sort of stagger up the path with the coop on my back.
Going to need some help to get the coop into the run though. Plus I have a base to build for it yet.
Weather is meh and not looking any better for the foreseeable future.

Today is the last cool day for awhile, so I baked sourdough bread this morning. I have to wait for it to cool before slicing... Otherwise it gets gummy, So They Say. We'll see how long I can hold out.
