Mansfield MO is about an hour away. I was hoping for some relief here it's been so hot

Shade is good in this weather. When we take Maggie to the park, we stick to the shaded paths. She is not very heat tolerant.

Bella is the same way. This morning instead of waiting an hour after I fed them, I put them out on the deck as soon as we got up, went out and fed the chickens and released them, then we immediately left to go run. We ate when we got home.

Big storms brewing ...

Lucky you! I hope it saves enough of its energy by the time it reaches us that we get some decent rain.

Good morning Cafe it is dry still temperature gets to 90 this next week now..

It was a real gullywasher!
My chickens (the ones I thought were so smart) got themselves stuck in a corner all huddled up on the outside of the run and were being totally pelted by rain. They couldn't find their way into the coop. After I had just showered, dried my hair and put on a nice, semi-new outfit, I had to run out and pick them up and put them in.
I was SOAKED after only a couple of minutes.

That passed by just south of me, looked gnarly.
I could hear it but no rain just wind.

Man is it hot. I'm digging in 30 minute stints then coming in and melting an ice pack on my head and downing a quart of ice water. I'm getting there though.

The part above the bog shelf is 13'x9'. The final shelf width will be 10". The lowest point in the center will be 42" sloping up all the way around to 38".

I've been taking breaks with the chickens. At one point Tink brought the kids into the coop and scratched the ever loving crap out of the bedding.
She took them back to the maternity ward when Remi and Annie showed up to lay.
Remi may be blind in one eye but she's still a force to be reckoned with for those under her.
