that does look like a very pretty hike!@bruceha2000 thanks again for the North trail lake Willoughby hike suggestion. We made it to the summit and to the lookouts. As you know, pictures just can't do it justice. It's something you have to experience. Which my niece did not. She was complaining about hiking on flat rail trails yesterday and we only went about a half a mile. Two and a half miles up the side of a mountain was probably not going to go over well with her so I asked if she wanted to stay home. She readily agreed!

View attachment 3280823View attachment 3280826She was excellent. Still no signs of limping and just a super sweet girl. But I have not let her do any leaping, running or twisting. Except for the time she stopped to greet three ladies hiking up the mountain and decided that the walking stick (branch) one of them had would make a darn fine chew stick. They all got to kick out of that, and found her one of her own.
And little 15 1/2 years old Skittles made it all the way up and back down too. I only carried him for a total of maybe half a mile.
