I can take a punch in the mouth or a beating about the head and shoulders but please don't kick me in the shins.

Oh my... somebody else who knows what "barking your shins" means! I use that phrase and nobody know what I'm talking about!barking up both shins
I had to search the ROM to get that word out.Oh my... somebody else who knows what "barking your shins" means! I use that phrase and nobody know what I'm talking about!
Glad you're ok, @aart.
Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.
Last day of work.
The rescue that has the min pin I wanted has denied my application. They said they tested her around large dogs and she was uncomfortable and felt it would be too stressful for her.
Who really knows. I was also told by the people that had Fuji and turned her over to our rescue org that she was TERRIFIED of all men. I never saw that behavior in her. Ever. So many people anthropomorphize animals and think they understand their behavior when all they do is end up making things worse. It could have been vibes the dog was picking up on the non-large dog owning foster or from the dog itself. I can guarantee that that little girl would have thrived in my care with my happy, stable, well adjusted dogs. Their loss.

Same here.a rescue pitbull or shepherd-cross are not appropriate for me, but that is practically all we are able to adopt in Nova Scotia.
As in all things 'people' and profit are involved. Prior to getting Maggie we had explored rescuing and found many/most groups restrictive and unrealistic. That stinks!
I have very little positive regard for most the people in the 'rescue' realm.
It's a very odd game.
Half or more of them don't seem to really know canine behavior.I have very little positive regard for most the people in the 'rescue' realm.
Same with Dobermans. And apparently min pins.I have had many rescue JRTs in the past, but it is becoming more and more difficult to adopt, even when there is one available.
