BYC Café

Where are they used?
Thinking in front of entry door to wipe feet of muck?
Machine shops, milking sheds, nature reserve tracks, trenches in WW1. Anywhere where the ground is likely to be slippery and/or wet.
They are not really door mats.

The rescues I checked out did not regard invisible fence as a viable option.
That can be the case. When my sister lived in VA they had a German Shepherd. He would blow right through the invisible fence chasing squirrels but wouldn't come back in because OW!

DH and I were stringing up extension cords from the generator to the coffee pot, first, and then to Starlink so that we could watch DS$'s first college match in an intra-squad dual, which he won.
You know Margie, MOST people would start with the refrigerator and freezer ;)

So far, I have to say I think all the woolly prognosticators claiming we are going to have a COLD winter are full of crap.
But it isn't winter until Dec 20/21! At least as far as the calendar is concerned.

Been warmer than usual here as well. It isn't uncommon to see a few flakes of white stuff in late September, a 1" fall a couple of times in October are generally expected. Nothing seen nor on the horizon. Not sure how Killington is going to make and keep enough snow for their World Cup at the end of the month unless it gets a lot colder.

DW will likely want her snow tires on fairly soon thought, no one wants to be caught short when the drive to work is 35 miles.

I started advertising Tink's boys and I've got interest in both of them. I'm 95% sure one will go to his new home this Thursday morning. And his new harem is his age.
Waiting to hear back on the second one.

It's no secret that I am a bit of a technophobe, but did you know that technology also hates me? I voted today - totally new system. After checking in and having identity confirmed, they gave me a ballot form to be placed into the voting machine. The machine refused to accept mine - voting monitor tried to help - after 5 tries it finally accepted it from me. :barnie:barnie

Probably the same machines we have had here "forever". Sorry it hates you, I've never had a problem with it zipping the ballot in.

Good morning Cafe. Dry day ahead it is cold 42 out.
Cold I can do start as fire in the stove.
35°F here. BIG change from 65° two days ago!
