I got a call from the Hearth when I was at work this morning and in a nutshell, they're kicking DH out because he's too far declined to meet their standards so he has to get moved into a nursing home.

Obviously, I missed a lot of what was and is going on here at the Cafe during the last few months.

But my DH suffered a stroke at the end of September which kept me busy on overdrive with no time left for BYC or similar. He is just recently back at home and we are still busy readjusting our home for the new requirements and getting used to our new routine including lots of special stroke rehab training etc.

So sorry to hear, seem to be lots of problems lately.

Awe, grrr I love when the pads of their feet are still soft. I just want to rub them forever. Little soft baby toes! She's so cute.

That is the worst. Do you also have a good second if the first one is full? I like how they "make" you give 5. That's so many places to choose. For sure #5 is sub par, right? Unless you've got 100 of them to choose from. Hopefully you get your first choice, though.

No. There aren't a lot of good options in the area. I'm crossing my fingers because it's the largest facility in the area.

It’s another cold and dark morning here. Wood stove is on. Salt is getting along well with Buoy - she’s giving him a run for his money during play time, but he loves it. Haha.

I love how these pups bring joy to the dogs too! Bella just loves her little sister! Even Skittles is getting more interested in Piper as she better learns to control her energy levels with him.

Do you fear the technology? I don't think I'm like tin-foil-hat afraid of it, but I'm not real excited on the Siri's and Alexa's of the world listening to conversations and showing me ads of things I've talked about. Cuz that ain't all they're doin'. Eek.

Thinking more about this.....at work I had to deal with ever changing hardware and software upgrades and advances in technology. In the last half dozen years, I have grown weary of that type of thinking.

The constant acquisition of the 'latest and greatest'(keeping up with the jones') mentality has always annoyed/disgusted me, the older I get the more it bothers me, I choose not to run that race....and was/am often vilified because of it.
Just because things can be done and it's 'cool' doesn't mean they should be done.


On a chicken note, even tho I dread the consequences of a thaw after all that snow I can't say I mind the milder temps this morning. Poopcicles are loosening and I there is one hen might be thinking about laying. She was moaning and groaning going in and out of the nests while I was cleaning.

DL, I am sorry that DH has to move. That seems abrupt and just really stinks.

Yesterday was GS's 2nd Birthday and we had a great time watching him zoom around on his new glide bike. Today, I think it is drink lots of coffee day and just recover from overeating and get ready for ? ???
