Enjoying a cool and cloudy morning, with clothes and drinking my coffee hot.
Trying to ignore the dread the next week holds.

Good morning Cafe. Thanks for the coffee, Margie!
I hit the ground running this morning and just sat down to breakfast. I've got two loads of wash on the line, I've run the dogs, I've sanded and primed a bunch of shoe molding, installed the last four pieces of baseboard in my bedroom and started to sand down the spare room to get it ready for painting.

We're going to get warm next week too but I'm thankful that I don't see any high 90s in my forecast. But we will be cresting into the 90s for 3 days in a row with no respite of cool temperatures overnight. I hate that weather.
Gah!!
I just looked at the pond and my very first lily flower is opening. I swear that was closed when I sat down to eat my breakfast!

That must be a tropical variety, they bloom above the water line like that.

If you're patient and have the time, you can actually watch water lily blooms open, and fold back up in the evening....takes maybe an hour or so. Amazing!

I didn't buy tropical lilies. I have zero interest in hauling them out of the pond every winter. It should be a hardy but it's pretty cool it has an aerial flower.
That particular one I purchased from a local lady. It's a small to medium spread. She has a VERY shallow pond. Maybe a foot deep at most. I obviously have this lily deeper in my pond than that tuber ever saw before.
