Exhausted after loading the truck with goats and chickens Friday night. Sleepng about 2 hours, getting up at 6 am, loading the rest of the truck. Driving 2 hours to the swap. Hot and sunny day, was very glad i brought the canopy. Sold one goat, could have sold another, but she seemed off to me. Traded 3 cockerels for 3 pullets. Left around noon. Visited a friend to remove the spurs on her cockerel. Drove home. Almost fell asleep a dozen times. Drank lots of caffeine, slapped myself in the face multiple times. Once i got home and put the animals away, did a lot of sleeping. That's still all i want to do. But that one baby goat needed...something. i stopped on the way home and bought Vit E with selenium. Gave her some right away. Then once i got home, i tried to bottle feed her some electrolytes. I had to hold her head up and hold the bottle in place. She would drink what leaked out. I nearly fell asleep feeding her as we sat on the barn floor.
I got half a cup in her and went back to the house and slept. Woke up a while later, went up to the barn and did it again. This heat is hurting everything. Feels like 96° here right now. I need to go check her again, along with all the animals. Getting too old for this stuff.
I decided she might be thiamine deficient, so i gave her an injection last night. You have to be your own vet unless you're rich.
