What egg colour do they lay, or are they the quail equivalent to cornish x meat birds?
They all lay white eggs with spots, George's being bluey splotches, Spots being blue dots and Hercules's being smaller eggs with black or brownish spots and small splotches.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'Cornish x meat birds', I just know they are either Japanese or jumbo Japanese quail and their colours.

Cornish x meat birds are usually harvested very early in life before they start laying eggs, so their egg colour, size or amount of eggs are not the reason people keep them.

But I just came across a video of some guy showing the difference between normal coturnix and jumbo quail eggs - impressive!

Most part of the chickens TSC and all the hatcheries sell are just mixes too, they just invent fancy names for them.
Can't agree with that. At least here the hatcheries have quite a lot of purebred breeds. Not show quality of course but they meet the APA standards. Things like all the (make up a name) sex linked birds are, effectively, mutts since they are not recognized by the APA.

t's in the 50s which is a good temp to do the attic work to move the vent. I'm working myself up to it...
Hopefully you won't find a large snake like my now son-in-law did! Maybe your border would like to see the attic ;)

My border is at his first day of college. And last night his computer decided to start mis-behaving. He has to go to my sister/BIL's after school so he and my BIL can continue to trouble shoot it.

I found two snake skins in the attic when I was re-wiring the house. The house wasn't tight then. It is now. I don't think I'll find any this time.

The only thing I'm grateful for is that the area I need to work on is right on the other side of the central truss supports so I don't have far to scamper through 16" of blown-in insulation. Just digging all that out of my way to find the pipe will be fun. (Yes.. I'm still sitting on my butt not doing it!)
