BYC Café

I know there is no insulation in the soffits because I had to pull most of them down when I redid the facia after finishing the roof over the future screened in room last year.
I had to remove pink batting insulation from a majority of the soffit cavities, simple gable roof 64" long. WTH they stuffed them in there baffled( :gig ) me as the guy who built the house was an engineer. SMH.

and on top of that IT'S FRIDAY so enjoy because the weekend is here!!!!
All you need is right next to the coffee pot so brew a cup of the magic potion and enjoy the patio in the cool morning (56 right now) seeing how by the time this weekend is over and next week is beginning it's suppose to be back in the 90s with high humidity. All I know is I'm looking forward to the cooler days when I can open windows/ doors and turn the AC off.

Our AC runs 24/7 all year.

But he wasn't a builder. DW reminded me constantly when we were wiring the prior house that she was an electrical engineer, not an electrician ;) But her father was (retired) so if we had questions that we couldn't answer with a book (WAY pre Google and YouTube) we had someone to consult. The only real brain twister was the 4 way switches.

That's true...and maybe I should have said he designed the house, but he may not have been the one who did the insulation. I do know he did much of the woodworking, such as it is which was well done, but rather ugly in many places.

They can plan the wedding...it's their wedding.
Maybe they'll be smart and go down to the court house?
DH and I did our own. $10/5 minutes in front of a judge. It's lasted 34 plus years, so I think we got our money's worth. :gig

Both my parents were deceased. I never had daydreams about a fairytale wedding. What a big fn waste, imo.

I tell people, spend the money on the photographer, not the caterer. You will have the pictures to look at years from now. You won't remember the food, unless it's spectacularly bad, in which case, it'll be funny years from now.

I did the courthouse thing, then breakfast at The Clock for a half dozen friends.
My Dad was thrilled about that, not so much about the groom.
He was right about that, lasted 7 years.

I have never understood spending obscene amounts of money at the beginning of a marriage, what start it out in debt?
