I FINALLY got a hold of someone in the administration offices at Absolut to discuss my concerns about DHs care. Or, to be more accurate, the lack there of.

I spoke directly with the administrator of the facility and told him what I wanted. He said he would put me in touch with the floor nurse and I told him not to bother, that I'd already expressed my concerns many times to her and nothing was done to the point that he fell for the fifth time and split his head open. He said he was going to go down and make some inquiries and call me back in 10 minutes.

20 minutes later he did call back. It took longer because he was talking to a multitude of people.

DH got put back in the neck brace to help support his head.

He has been put back in PT for the neck but they will discuss the aggressiveness of the treatment at tomorrow mornings clinical meeting.

They will also discuss putting DH on a mild muscle relaxant to help release the muscles. This is up to the resident doctor (she's useless... but maybe when put on the spot by the Administrator who is conveying the deep concerns of the POA of a resident regarding the condition her loved one is in might get her to actually look into it further).

And they will discuss reducing the amount of antipsychotic med he is on to help him connect and communicate easier now that he is settled in there.

The Admin also told me that he contacted Vestal Park and was informed that DH is in fact on the wait list and that he is second in line!! I realize that doesn't mean that he will be moved any time soon but I at least now know that he is on the list and where on the list.

I will be getting a follow up call from him tomorrow after the clinical meeting to give me an update.

I was literally crying on the phone and thanking him profusely for the information and the help.

I'm not really sure how I got this big of a gob of mud on my leg and didn't notice it.

Couldn't be because you knelt in a glop that hit the floor.

@bruceha2000 What's the KWH per mile?
How much does it cost to replace the batteries...and have you ever had to do that??
kilowatt hours per mile. Oh wait, it should be kWh/100 miles!!!! That is usually how it is reported.

The Leaf is averaging 34 kilowatt hours per 100 miles. I looked up the data for the Hummer EV (IMO a vehicle, like it's gas predecessor, that should never have been built), it is 70.5 kWh/100 miles.

If we were paying the electric company ($0.183/kWh) the Leaf would cost $0.06 per mile. At our current local gas price of $3.899/gallon a vehicle that gets 35 MPG (pretty good for most non hybrids) the cost is $0.11/mile. DW's 70 mile commute would cost $4.20. The 35 MPG car would cost $7.70.

The batteries for two 2006 Prius (one DW's old one, just shy of 250K miles a year ago; DD2's current, 1.5 years ago at just shy of 200K miles) ran $1,400 installed in our driveway by Green Bean. They are refurbished batteries which means all the cells are checked and the bad ones replaced. You get someone else's old battery, someone else gets yours.

I don't know the cost for the batteries in fully electric cars and it would be all over the map depending on the batteries and size of same. Since the battery is constantly charging and discharging in the non plug-in Prius I assume the battery in an all electric will go for a lot of miles as well. I've not checked on the Leaf but the batteries in the 2006 Prius are guaranteed for 150K miles in VT (and all other states that adopted the California energy laws)
