BYC Café

Good morning and thanks for the hot coffee! It has warmed up into the teens and it is sunny so maybe we will get above freezing today. The only reason I know that pharmacies are having issues and long wait times, plus closing for lunch now, is because I have my friend that I am always taking to appts and then to the pharmacy for her cancer meds. I have stood in some hour long lines when it was a new prescription for her.
So the mention of oatmeal sounds good! I have a multi-grain rolled "oatmeal" from Azure that we use. I have blackberries and raspberries to use up.
Enjoy the day, Cafe!

Good Morning!

Chilly here today - highs in the low 20’s, a dusting of sky dandruff coming down, adding to yesterday’s slight accumulation.

Now that the weather has turned, I went out yesterday and did some long overdue cleaning of coops (actually, DH cleaned one for me, and I cleaned the other), put down fresh straw, plugged in heated waterers and put in windows. The birds are not overly excited about the change in the weather.

HTG is coming over early afternoon to help with the kayak. :drool Not normally a drool worthy event but with HIS help, it will be! :love
I couldn't find the woman fanning her flushed face after staring at HTG emoji. You'll have to use your imagination.
I got a hug (he's gonna crack my rib) goodbye with a "You deserve lots of hugs. Hugs are nice but they can be dangerous" comment. You can say THAT again!! I need a cold shower...

We picked up hubby's scrip, and instead of 90 day supply, it was only 30. He specifically asked his Doc to make it 90, and Doc was happy to oblige. Yes, it makes more sense. Yes, it's a few dollars cheaper. And so the first installment was for 90 days.

Well, the insurance company won't cover 90 days now. Just 30. And instead of enough refills to take hubby to his next physical, it's enough to get him to February. Oh, and they are the ones who do auto-refill, so that is why the pharmacy didn't text us it was ready.

I will be calling the insurance company and asking if there is a good, logical, sensible reason for this change. Are they hoping he'll die in between refills, and they will be out less money? Are they hoping he'll "forget" that he needs these, and they can stop paying for it? (Leading to him possibly dying; see reason above.)

Soup line, insurance company, soup line, soup line, soup line.*

*That is my person swear word for something I can't write here.

Hubby's on his last pill in his prescription, so we called the pharmacy and it took 3 (!) tries to get through to an actual person. No, they don't do auto-refill and text you when it's ready anymore. Yes, you have to call it in every time now.

They are driving everyone to use apps and not bother them anymore. Just like the self serve checkout lines in their grocery store.:mad:

I do not like this trend at all. I'm screwed and stuck with it.
I get my medications by mail. Much better than big chain stores..
