BYC Café

Good morning and thanks for the hot coffee!
Hugs, DL... :hugs
One of my neighbor's house burned down yesterday. The firefighters did a good job of keeping it out of the trees so it didn't spread in the breeze. It was the house that my friend just sold and the new people were in the process of moving in, maybe redoing the floors? Could be the ignition factor? Anyway, they have a foundation....
My son,( DS$, the wrestler) uses Liquid IV electrolyte stuff. It works well and recharges the body quickly. If you order from the company, there are lots of flavors and they are good about sending coupons, fyi...
Stay warm and healthy, Cafe! I get to stay home today and split more wood. I was really hoping the new people wanted to get wood , BUT , sigh.
I love the hydration one! Walmart carries them too. Lots of flavors. But definitely more flavors on the website. Amazon too. I got this on Amazon this time. I haven’t used the hydration one in a while. Been using the energy one lol

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

They moved DH to the dementia ward because they were remodeling three rooms on the rehab floor and his was one of them. I finally conceded and allowed them to do it because ANY move is going to trigger another episode of aggression for at least a week before he will settle down. And I no longer harbor any hope that I will get him over to Vestal Park. He will die at Absolut. Or Mercy House depending on what happens.

He definitely no longer remembers me. He does remember my name but doesn't associate it with my face. Tough visit last night.
It is a very tough journey you are making. My heart goes out to you, but even more I admire your fortitude.
I don't know if hugs from strangers have any effect, but just in case they help I am sending you these:
:hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs

I hope no one got hurt..?

I also hope they have insurance. Oh, my what a kick in the you know where. Just moving in, in the winter, and the holiday season... That is sad.

We have a foundation at the old house. It is interesting to look at the poured cement walls. There is some "wave" to them, where they bowed in a bit when the cement was poured. There is also a foot wide ledge on one side that starts at about 4 feet high and goes down to the ground. In the corner, you can see a bit of a large rock. I'm guessing that there were some rocks they couldn't get out of there...? I heard that it was built in the 1920s or 30s.

There is about 12-16 inches of broken plaster, unburned wood, metal, and glass in the bottom of it. It will be a soggy mess come spring. We still have not decided whether to "build" anything in or on the foundation, or maybe just fill it in. (I'm leaning toward filling it in.)

We have a ramp leading up out of it, in case an animal gets down in there and can't climb or jump out.
