Good Morning!

Mother and I are going on a road trip today. Heading to the Twin Cities for a Christmas party at my aunt’s house. Many of the cousins I grew up with will be there. Thai is my aunt’s first holiday season without my uncle (they were married for 61 1/2 years when he passed). It’s 7 hours round trip. Going to be a long day, but worth it.

Our day will start when Mom (83) arrives here in an hour. She will get out of the drivers seat and get into the passengers seat while saying, “I’ll let you drive, but you ‘know’ I can still do it….” And I tell her, “Of course I know you can. If I didn’t think so, I‘d take your keys.” Somewhere down the road she’ll sign and tell me how boring it is to just be sitting there, and I’ll tell her that I know, because when DH and I go anywhere he always drives because he’s a terrible passenger and I get tempted to leave him on the side of the road.

DH will not be going. He likes my family, just not all in the same place at the same time in confined spaces. (He gets twitchy if there are more than 2 people in a room.) So he jumped at the chance to spend the day with GD who came for a sleepover last night. She’s excited about her “Grampa and me day.” (We have decided that DH needs the t-shirt that says, “You can’t tell me what to do. You’re not my Granddaughter!”

Have a happy weekend, everyone!

When all you want to do is suck on your wubby but little sis demands you play with her instead.

Piper crammed herself under Bella's throat and popped out on the other side of her.

Good morning and thanks for the hot coffee! I had book group last night and it was fun as always. The weather creatures are now saying, "6 inches and 80mph gusts" starting tonight. I will be grinding my beans for tomorrow and filling up some water containers, JIC.
Download a new book or two on the kindle, stock up some firewood, and make soup, then go tell the weather creatures to back off!
Have a great day, Cafe, and stay warm and dry!

Grey and dripping here. It sounds like rain, but it's just the trees dripping on the roof. The road was sloppy and slushy.

I won't be going to the store until Monday. It will be a mad house on the weekends from now through the end of the year. I did my time in retail. I was paroled many years ago, and then entered the "production" program for rehab. Sentence commuted to time served in 2020.

Always busier on the weekends, I've found since I retired.
Went once on a Saturday and it was crowded...I realized it was the weekend 8-0 and now do all my store chores on the weekdays.

Gray and drizzly here too.
21 days until Solstice, but even that won't bring much relief right away.
