I've heard hot air balloon park with some small cabins up on the hill out of the flood zone to accommodate users or an Airbnb ( but I don't think that's very feasible without having to submit significant building plans and go through a zoning change).@DobieLover any idea what the plans are for the area.
Funky how?some of them were kind of funky
Moldy and very soft.Funky how?
My mother has an over abundance of kittens this year, so I’m planning on getting 2 or 3 of them to hopefully help control the rodent and rabbit population around here. Her adult cats are all good hunters, but I’m not sure I want any around now that I have baby chicks (my broody just hatched out 5). I know mama hens are protective, but I’m afraid it would still be easy for a skilled hunter to nab one.Still fairly cool, but humidity seems to be rising.
Seeing evidence that mouses are active, have caught a few in the last couple weeks. Decided to rebait all the traps, good thing as some of them were kind of funky. I just use little chunks of plain peanuts crammed into the trigger, much cleaner than peanut butter.
So that's done, will see how many corpses greet me in the morning.

That's how I do it too.I shove the bait in so tight it doesn't get eaten without a fast kill.
That's where all these traps are....I get a few infiltrations a few times a year. Usually snap 2-3 then a reprieve. Thinks the garage flooding might have upped the count.I had to trap one last night in the house.
The last thing I want in my house is a cat(s), they would wreak more havoc trying to catch the mice than the mice themselves. My mother has an over abundance of kittens this year, so I’m planning on getting 2 or 3 of them to hopefully help control the rodent and rabbit population around here.
