BYC Café

Good Morning All,
Christmas Eve.....it is going to be the busiest day of the year.
I am having my cuppa tea now without real sugar, but stevia sugar. It is a taste to be acquired. I drank a can of soft drink yesterday morning and don't feel that well since. So no sugar today and as for the next 2 days, minimum sugar intake. Then after that I am back to free ranging again. :)

Merry Christmas to all.

Good morning? Cafe. Coffee is ready.

Normal winter routine: put Piper's collar on her and turn the dogs out to potty while I heat water for their food and get my coffee brewing. When water is hot, get Bella's bowl ready and take it to the door where 2 bouncing dogs will be waiting for breakfast.

This morning, there was just one big dog standing. I let her in and buzzed Piper on the collar. After 15 seconds, nothing.

Buzz her again and screamed her name. Nothing.

Mad dash to get Carhartt coat over my PJs and slip my bare feet into my winter boots, grab the controller and bolt out the door buzzing the collar and yelling. Nothing. I give it a pop and hear her yelp way over at the next neighbors down... near where there is a small pond. I saw a deer go into the woods in that direction.
I keep running and screaming and once in a while popping her and keep hearing the yelp. Once she barked. Then nothing.

I run back to the house for my phone for the flashlight app and run back out.

After checking the pond and seeing no signs of her there and another 10 minutes of running and screaming her name, I finally see her dash through that neighbors side lot behind their shed!!

I run towards her but she now thinks she is in serious trouble and runs away! I squat down and keep calling her and finally aim the light on me. She runs up to me and is shivering violently. We had more snow last night, it's 22 and she doesn't have a coat on.

When I put her down in the house she ran to the wood stove to warm up while I pulled my snow covered bare legs out of my snow filled winter boots.

She now seems none the worse for wear but I keep coughing and I can taste blood. When I used to run and really push myself, I would taste blood. I hope it all settles down once the adrenaline coursing through my body is dealt with. I think I'll take a nap...
