My next door neighbor started his new job yesterday. He's training to become a sheriff in the next county. He's in his late 30s/early 40s, a black belt in tae kwon do (?), and in great shape for the physicalness of the job.

Good morning and thanks for the hot coffee!
The GKs and I had fun yesterday. The oldest mentioned "volcano" so you know where that idea went to. There is now a papier-mâché volcano sitting and drying on the Ping-Pong table in their garage, waiting to be painted and decorated before the next time that we get together and have a "blast!"
I am taking DAF shopping and to an appt. I hope the roads are not awful and maybe they put some sand down before we get to venture out.
I could see that having a Sherriff next door could be helpful!

Good Morning,
Coffee is ready. The weather report says that we are in for a heat wave and all major city are @ risk of bush fires...

I am going for a long drive today and remind myself to watch my speed limit as the cameras and law enforcement are out to catch motorists on speed limit and any driving offences like dog sit on passenger's laps unsecured, mobile phone on laps/talking on mobile phone while driving, unsecured coffee cup, 1 leg/arm sticking out of the car window..etc....every Km over the limit is an offense.

In my case - chicken sitting on driver's lap unsecured. Speed up while driving up the hill.

In my younger day that was just about in my last life, my brother used to wave his hand out the window screaming HELLO at random people walking on the street...Now such behaviour will result in eye watering fine and some demerit points. Free range days are over

So do not take a sip of coffee while driving, do not relax with an elbow/forearm propped out the window to let the breeze flow down your armpit and, in the name of all that is good and pure, NEVER be friendly to or greet strangers while operating or riding in an automobile!!

Can your passenger display his/her bare hiney out the window to law enforcement if they are nice a quiet about it?

.....so many rules!

Last week I was a passenger with my tiny rooster sitting on my lap, he was in my handbag. We stopped at traffic light and saw a big camera pointing down at the traffic light...my heart sunk...I don't want to think about it anymore, I hope they see the rooster in the handbag & that is secured enough.

It's warmed up and now we are getting rain.

That's what we had yesterday. Hubby drove back and forth on the driveway with the Jeep a couple of times to break up the slush/ice and give the rain somewhere to go. He's expecting a delivery today and they often will not come back to our house in the winter.

I hope it gets here today. If not today, tomorrow should be good; we're getting temps in the mid 40s Thursday and Friday.
