Very light snow has started. We are in the area with the heaviest snowfall impact. "12-18" with localized area receiving nearly 2 feet". I'm going to try to shovel multiple times throughout the storm to keep it more manageable.

Good luck. It has just started here. My forecast says 18-22” (which seems oddly specific) with wind and drifting.

Be safe everyone! The snow might clip us a little bit, but it's going south of us. We are too far inland for lake effect snow to be much of a problem, usually.

The Great Lakes -- especially Lake Michigan for us -- really moderate Michigan's weather.

Thanks for the coffee. I, too, will be pushing snow around trying to keep ahead of the predicted 12" + that is predicted.

We have warmed up to 10F and only got a dusting overnight.

Well had my coffee Cafe.
Staying warm here fire in the trash burner.
They weather guys say we are in drought as had not had rain in 12 days.
Snow pack on the mountains is quite low.
I am happy for dry but heck.

15° felt positively balmy today! Light snow, tiny flakes. It was warm enough that Freya wanted to walk.

I need a sunny day.

I got to use my snowblower for the first time. It's so cold that the snow is very dry and fluffy. It was actually kind of fun! Now I know why my father always used to come in from clearing the driveway covered in snow with a dopey grin on his face. I guess the apple didn't fall far from that tree.

I got the first batch of clearing things finished. It took about 2 hours. We've got about a foot and it's still coming down at the same rate.

My grand matriarch, Astrid, put herself in a heated nest box last night. She was sprawled out on it when I got out there this morning! She was the only one left in the nest boxes. When I approached her she stood up as if to leave so I reached in and gently pushed her back down and she was happy to stay put for the time being! What a smart girl.

Cold (13°), but 30 degrees warmer than two mornings ago!!!

Glad we don't have to go anywhere today. There are lots of crashes/slide offs in Grand Rapids, according to the news. That's in the big city where they have lots of resources for taking care of the roads. I don't want to find out what the conditions are close to home.
