No, it's far less precise. More unwieldy. Requires more brute force to use, like a scale.

Well, if you broke my scales, then how else am I supposed to bludgeon people? My scalpels are too small, my staple gun would probably misfire and someone would somehow end up with a wayward staple in their eyes or nether regions (depending on the angle of the blow), and knives are too skinny.
Also, again, you broke my scales. Those were expensive. *Whack.*
