Smitty's Farm I love that site! Did you pick a pattern yet, Jen? I think I saw your pattern book at the store yesterday while I was looking for yarn.[/quote :

There are so many really goods ones on that site its hard to choose. It makes you want to go down the list and make one each and put them all together into one big afgan!
I'm having a hard time choosing. I really like the pinwheel star, and the chain link square, but I think I'll go with the Fisherman's ring. DH loves to tie those old sailor knots and it reminds me of his "turks-head" knot. And I love Patricia Kristofferson's raised crochet doilies, and it reminds me of some of her stuff.

I wish I could follow the patterns better or I might would just do that.

I love the look of the hodge podge afghans that have diff patterns of granny squares hooked together. Check out this afghan done w/ diff patterns. I just love it!

I like the one's you've chosen, esp the Fisherman's ring. I still want to do the sunflower one, if I can accomplish it.

I think that sunflower one was Anne, citygirlinthecountry. Two of the squares are mine, lol, I just kept what was left over so I did end up with 2 of Smitty's and the 3 of Anne's, 2 of someone else's..I kept 20 squares...and I'll finish that tote bag...one day, loL!! Soooo many other things to crochet first!!!

It looks great! I love it! I'm digging all the diff patterns & color combos. Oh yea...how did you weave them together?

Maybe you can help me w/ the sunflower pattern.

I haven't had time to look at it again or do any crocheting lately. I'm trying so hard to get my late garden weeded & planted. Whew! It was a huge jungle. We are finally having warm & dry enough weather to plant. I'd be so sad if I didn't have a garden this yr.

I used a fat yarn becsue it looked so much better than the normal sized yarn which showed all the differences in the squares toomuch, it's light and lofty and I just whip stitched it up and across ...and really those fringes are cuter than they appear in the picture, it looks sort of a more hip retro kinda thing. I've been working on my squares, the baby blanket and I have this wild fringy colorful afghan (woobie) I am nearly finished with for my son's girlfirend (I SHOULD have had it finished for her birthday 2 weeks ago, but....)nearly done though, and then the tote bag comes in, lol!

Here is the girlfriend one...

I made a sunflower square that I was considering doing for the swap also but dont know yet. It is fashoined after a square I got in the last swap (blua and white): It has 16 double crochets in the middle circle and 16 petals made from the cluster stitch and then the outside ( ye) I used autumn colors though

OK, after a few practice runs, here it is. Sorry about the focus, it looks better in real life. My squares always have fatter middles than corners. Where should we measure?

Is the color ok?

I love the pattern

I like that thread too

I am still thinking I might go with a sunflower looking thing;

I hope I can post a picture so you guys can see,,,,the one I did has a pumpkin orange middle, white with flecks colored pedals, and a dark forest green outside. The colors sound kinda odd but put all together it aint half bad. It resembles the Sunburst Granny Square from those patterns, Jen.Much better than my squares from the first swap
