I really need to work the kinks out, but no time right now. Trying to make up for lost time in the garden.

I got the pattern out of one of my crochet books by Leisure Arts. It's just called 99 Granny Squares To Crochet. I've had the book for yrs, but haven't had time to learn how to decipher the patterns. I'm trying to make time now and I'm still having problems.

welcome scooter and chickngurl i will add ya'lls name to the list.

Scooter if you will go back and look at I think 7 or 8 not sure I posted pics of what I did with the square I got back from the last swap, alot are making purses and afhgans but there is all kinds of stuff you can do with granny squares, I got back enough sqaures last swap to make 3 purses and a wallet. I made one for me and one for each of my girls.

well I wish today was better but I woke this morning to some of my new hens dead. I just bought a freinds flock of silkes and turks and brought them home and this morning all 4 turken hens where dead and then my rir and silkies and some others that i keep togather at night where all huddled in their nest box like a can of tuna and one of the rir hens sufficated and the other I was able to save. I just don't know what would have made them do that something had them scared when I went out to let out the chickens we keep pened up at night, the ones that we leave out all the time were hiding up in the trees. I just wish I knew what did it. well tonight I am going to put out a camcorder and see if I can catch what ever it is scaring them so I will be pulling a late night tonight protecting my chickens. so I will update you tomorrow on whats happening.

tiki, scrambled thanks... I have been bashing my brains all day trying to figure out what it is that scared them, as for the new ones my hubby says that the stress of the move from one home to another and the heat from the day and whatever came in the yard last night scaring everything is what killed the turken hens as for the RIR hen she was smoother by the other chickens in the pen all trying to get in the nest boxs to hide. When I got out there the ones that couldn't fit in the nest boxs where all huddled close togather in the corner of the bottom of the pen, which makes me wonder if it wasn't either and owl or a chicken hawk? I leaning more toward chicken hawk since when I went out at 10:30 there was not a single chicken of my DH's in the yard which I though was unusal and then end up finding my hen dead and the others huddled in nest boxs and corners when usally there sqawking at me to let them out and nearly trample me when I open the door. But this morning was just a shock for me. Well the good news of the day is that my one last RIR hen made it she came out of the shock, she spent most of the day in a wicker basket in the kitchen in front of the ac and I had to pump electrolites in to her but she came back around and is now standing up peeking over the side of the basket watching the girls run back and forth through the kitchen to their room so I think she will make it. As for the rest of my chickkidies I have installed lots of noise windchimes on the sides and doors of all the pens and coops and hung up sparkle paper stuff and kites that blow around to frighten off any thing that might even think of flying around or landing on their cages. Plus I will be able to hear the chimes if anything should try to get in from the bottom too. Lets hope it works. This is the first attack I have had in three years. and hopefully the last ever.

Scrambled its lookin good your going to have a really large purse huh!

well I will postya later gals! Maw.

Sorry about htose chickens, what a loss.

It'll be a yarn tote bag, I have one purse I can't seem to part with and that pretty much all I ever use!! This will be a tote, I'm not decided yet but probably a 3 inch wide strip between and over to join and make a handle....I have a couple other things to finish first though...

Have a great friday!!

Oh Mawchick, , That is just horrible! I am so, so sorry about your flock!

I'm so glad they didn't get them all. How is your little RIR today? Did the predator come back last night?

We had the huge local owl in the yard at the edge of the woods licking it's beak watching our big girls free range yesterday evening. We hurried and got them into the coop for safety as it flew right over our heads. Very scary!

Scrambled, I love that bag!

How did you weave the squares together? I can't wait to see how you decide to stitch it together.

I see a sunflower print square on it....who did it? I need to ask them for help. It looks just like the pattern I'm trying. I haven't had time the last couple of nights to do any crocheting.

Everyone have a great day!
