I have always loved and had horses, right now we have 5, Cici a medicine hat pinto, Ginger I think painted mixed with something else, anddd Araiah a pure clydesdale. Then I have two stallions, Bruce, arab/throughbred corss, and Edwaldo a pure clydesdale. I'm debating on who to geld, Bruce or Edwaldo...

clydesdale, wow. how big are they?

What is on everyone's wishlist?
I want a Bates Close Contact saddle. With matching leathers, of course!

My hubby has a medicine hat paint with blue eyes. he said she everything he NEVER wanted in a horse. 1.) it's a mare 2.) she almost soild white. 3.) she has blue eyes and 4.) she's a SHE!!

I have a bay roan QH filly.

My son, a big brown gelding. He is my husband's old trail horse.

English breeches are SSOOOO COMFY!! Right now I am looking for fleece lined ones so I can ride in warmth this winter. I like them because the don't have seams on the inside of the legs.
So don't knock them until you try them.

Cici has blueish eyes. Hows your husbands medicine hats temperment, and how is she around kids?

I do!
I've had horses every day of my life. I'm lucky that my parents were into them and we had horse property. I started out riding English in Pony Club and 4-H, I did some three day eventing (loved the jumping, hated the dressage) and finally settled into Team Roping. My dad and I roped together for years and years. I had to put my head horse down (twisted gut), then my heel horse (age) and I got another head/heel horse. He ended up with a leg injury and had to be semi retired.

He's good for trail riding and light arena work but no roping. So, I bought a little filly that I was going to use but life got in the way and now I just have two expensive trail horses.

Here I am with "Handsome". He was my pal and my heel horse for many years.

Clue the medicine hat paint is sssooooooo laid back and LAZY!!! We call her Clueless most of the time. If she was a person she would definatly be blonde.

My son is 10 yrs. old and he has rode her many times.. She is really good natured and easy to get along with. She only has one quirk............You knew that had to come uh?? ........Ever once and a while she will pull back while she is tied up. She had tightened a couple of lead ropes so tight they had to be cut! She broke a lead rope for the first time a couple of weeks ago. UGH! She doesn't do it everytimejust every once in a great while. And boy what a tough habit to break!!

And she has 4 white feet. I figgered that they would be soft and we would have to keep shoes on her all the time. But we have kept all of our horses barefoot for the past 3-4 yrs and not had any problems. But we haven't rode on real rocky trails either.

Does anyone else go barefoot?

And is there good riding places where you live??
