Hello all,
Does anyone have any tips for cabbage? I started it inside, was doing good, transplanted them outside and they just quit. Haven't done anything really since and it has been weeks.
Any ideas? Please and thank you!

Hello from Tempe Arizona..
We did have a garden till we left for Oregon & Washington. ( chehalis )
We had okra, cantelope, tomatoes, beets & bush basil... Hey at least the chickens were alive..
Our spekeled Sussex decided to go broody again... 105' today.. "dry heat" we "I " love it..
We would be at the lake with our teenage boys & friends rock climbing and cliff diving.. However
our oldest had a wrestling accident a few months ago & just had surgery to put his right elbow back together..
We just got a new router.. Once I have help with posting photos we will post.

As of now, we have oregano, parsley, edible pansy & mint..

We had a freeze, yes a freeze this last winter. Our trees litter we used as a bedding for our flock.. Then once it was time
to clean we had about 5 neighbors on our list to share for their compost & garden.. recycle/reuse.. Yeehaa

Can't find if I posted our garden contents. We started late so nothing is ready to pick but we have tons of flowering going on! We planted cherry/stripey/beefmaster another type of tomato; 2kinds of cucumbers; cauliflower; beans; peas; corn; purple/red/orange/yellow/green bell peppers; banana peppers, cayenne,/jalapeno/chili peppers; zucchini; eggplant; strawberries; and watermelon. Also got my mint plants started. We are buying our first home and grabbed starts that my mom has been raising at her house for years!

We have been harvesting squash for several weeks. -tomatoes are about to be ripe. We also have green beans, jalapeno peppers, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and 10 - 12 different herb varieties in the garden. Various types of mint and sage are planted all throughout the lawn in pots. Three varieties of lavender and more mint are planted throughout the landscaping surrounding the chicken coop. -have two types of giant sunflowers planted to help shade a specific area of lawn and provide food for the chickens after the blooming season. -growing impatiens, asparagus fern, caladiums, elephant ears, scaevola, lantana, society garlic, pincushion flower, shasta and blackfoot daisies, gerbera daisies, three vaieties of coreopsis, verbena, Japanese fern, plumbago, portulaca, multiple varieties of roses, Carolina jessamine, star jasmine, Asian jasmine, vitex, crape myrtles, echinacea, hostas, and coral bells. The back lawn is fragrant, green, and in full bloom!!!

Wow! Got a gardening forum here too....kinda like one stop shopping. Pretty cool! The size of our garden over the past 31 years has been dependent on how busy we had been with work, the kids, etc. Now that we're retired & the kids are out of the house the garden takes up most of the backyard. However, I find I lack the ambition to tend it as I should.

Row crops this year I planted tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, green beans, summer & winter squash, sweet potato, basil, cucumber, okra, calaloo, chard & cow pea. The cow pea was suppose to climb. Wrong! This one vines but doesn't climb, it was suppose to give the chickens some shade. Oh well, live & learn I guess.

Perennial crops include mint, rosemary, chives, tarragon, oregano, sweet marjoram, blueberry, strawberry, rhubarb & asparagus. This is my second attempt with asparagus. Several years ago I planted 35, 2 year old crowns, they did great the first year, the second year 3 came up. I dug up the crowns & found some little grub I had never seen before & haven't seen since. This time I started from seed, this is the 2nd growing season, all is well. Planted half a dozen fruit trees this past spring including citrus, pluot, apricot, asian pear & fig.

Currently harvesting summer squash, cucumber, tomato, rhubarb, pepper, strawberries & okra. Eggplant & beans will be coming in shortly. The blueberries are just about done for the year.

Another 5 weeks or so it will be time to start the seedlings for the fall/winter garden. Mostly root & cole crops along with some garlic, favas & sover crops that will be directly seeded much later down the road.

I garden! Mine is 100x120 feet.
Multiple species of tomatoes
Multiple species of squash: delicate, Hopi, sugar dumpling, pumpkins, etc
Watermelons
Corn
Sunflowers
Peppers (I think these are a wash. They don't look happy no matter what I've done)
Cucumbers, 3 types
Beans
Lettuce, greens
Peas
Potatoes

My garden was a hayfield literally 3 months ago. I had a guy with a tractor come to till for me in April and went nuts after that. Biggest issue is actually the grass is trying hard to come back. I mulched insanely, but it's aggressive. I keep mulching and pulling grass. I'm also putting cardboard, as I find it, under the mulch to really try to get the weeds under control. The wet weather hasn't helped. Eventually I know it will be ok, but it's tough in the meantime. My goal is a no-till garden.

I'm in the process of getting seeds going in my greenhouse for fall: kale, broc, cauliflower, etc.

I thought our 110 was bad.
