It's amazing how the garden is way too small this time of the year, and remains so until about mid July. Then it becomes way too big. It defies the laws of physics. Impatiently watching the mail box for the seed catalogs. I've learned the importance of ordering VERY early so the varieties I want don't get sold out.

Exactly. I'm getting the seeds out of storage, making a list and seeing what I need to order...ahem...want to order.

I helped my son and DIL start their first garden a couple of years ago. When she saw my box of seeds, (mind you, these were only the ones I took to their house!) she said that I had a serious problem, and perhaps an intervention was in order!... I don't think my little problem requires an intervention... it's not really harming anyone!

Not the way they should be stored. (Which as I understand it should be in a sealed jar in a refrigerator or freezer. I don't have enough space for that.) I do store them in glass jars, with dessicant (silicone packs saved from pill bottles) in the coldest areas of my house.

How exciting! I love gardening and I just cut open the first of my Queensland Blue pumpkins that I grew this Summer. I got 4 monster pumpkins from my 1 plant, and this was the smallest. I have to say, I am very proud of myself as my pumpkin looks a lot nicer than the one I got the seeds from!

My FIL thinks I have a problem. I have my spaghetti squash, pumpkins and canned goods stored in our mud room as it is cool and dry in there. He thinks I am a hoarder, but I don't see the harm in growing your own food. It kind of bugs me when they say it, but ultimately who is the one who is laughing every night to a hearty home cooked, home grown meal!
