Nothing planted yet but I am hoping to do some Pumpkins and some Squash again this year. Maybe some Beans and Lettuce or some Swiss chard too.

We never had a winter in Phoenix. Several of my summer crops lasted through the winter. I was surprised with some strawberries a couple of weeks ago and my fruit and citrus are already flowering. Hopefully we don't jump into the hundreds right away and we get a long grow season.

Strawberries in winter? Lucky!

Oh what a list I have! For a small city backyard garden:
Tomatoes (Rutgers & Roma), Bell peppers (Red, Orange, Yellow), Long sweet red peppers, jalapenos, another hot pepper (forgot the name), egg plant, okra, Brussels sprouts, garlic, and chives. I grow several plants up my fence to save room: Cucumbers, Minnesota midget melons (small cantaloupe), sugar baby watermelons, green beans, peas, and this year I am trying a couple types of squash. And I planted grapes last year, so I may get some fruit. As for herbs: Oregano, mint, basil, lemon basil, lime basil, anise, and thyme. I also plant corn behind the shed, and in my sunroom I have a "kitchen scrap garden" where I root and plant romaine lettuce, celery, green onions, and leeks. I will be trying the 3 sisters method with the corn, beans, and squash this year.

I am also trying the Three Sisters in my garden this year. Going to be starting some stuff this week, broccoli, kale, spinach, and some herbs. Maybe chard too.

What is the Three Sisters method?
The 3 sisters-Native Americans used it to grow corn, beans, and squash. Plant the corn and allow it to get strong enough to hold the beans. Plant the beans by the corn stalks to give them something to climb. Let squash grow on the ground at the base and it chokes out the weeds. Beans also enrich the soil with nitrogen which the corn loves

I have always wanted to try that! I didn't know it was called 3 sisters, now I can throw that term around and feel smart. lol!

Thanks! I think I am going to try the Three Sisters. I have little space, and this sounds like it will work great.
